Senses

To believe that us as humans only have taste, smell, touch, sight, and hearing to interpret and analyze the world that surrounds us is bologna.  Haven't you ever wondered why it is that when you "think" someone is
following you, you can almost feel their vision burning into the back of your neck?  Or when you walk into a house and you can "feel" the energy, whether it be positive or negative, of the atmosphere within the shelter of the home?

Meow.

Not only do I think our thoughts on senses are limited, but our perception of time is manipulative.  Peter Hancock conducted research in the University of Central Florida, Orlando concerning our perception of time.  He believed that time changed for us during times of extreme stress (warfare, driving accidents, ect...) but was very conflicting with the idea of an "ideal experimental environmental", seeing that completely eliminating external effects on the psychology of one for a "clean slate" to study is impossible to achieve.  Although no conclusions could come on how long or how time is distorted, Hancock did have evidence that people said time was distorted under the stress given, but was limited again due to the fact that putting the subjects under extreme stress could be unethical.

Who needs ethics anyway?

Ghosts and ghouls have always been a night time story to tell our kids so that they go to bed and wake up with a good circadian rhythm, but the idea arises: are the dead real?  I previously talked about my thoughts on a certain "energy" a person can leave since the first law of energy is "Energy cannot be created or destroyed".  Once someone dies, who says that their energy is destroyed?  Perhaps it stays around where said person went through many hard times in their lives, and maybe that energy can be seen or felt through other senses.  The idea of another world within our own has always fascinated me, because reality can sometimes get boring.

"I fell down these stairs and it hurt a lot" -Ghost

So I guess the question is "What else is there to our senses"?  There will always be supernatural explanations to our unusual senses like an existing astral plane or ghosts, and then there's those moments where time seems to freeze but we will never grasp an understanding of it due to our ethics.  If we wish to understand what else is in our head, perhaps it will take more time and better ways to research.  All I ask is that you keep an open mind with things like this, and always stay thinking.

Getting Back on Track

My name is Alejo R. Gonzalez. I am a student currently going to Mizzou pursuing Journalism, so I thought that posting in a blog and writing about my thoughts and passions would be a good place to start, ay?  I think life is a privilege that many people overlook and that everyone was put here for a reason, whether it be a "God's" mission, helping your family out or even helping others out from the kindness of your heart.  I'm a guy who enjoys new experiences throughout my days on this earth, and why not begin to share them with the world?
There are a mighty lot of us on this floating rock.

So my goal is to inform people on the little things that can help you do everything you could have always wanted to do with simple step by step guides, recommended music, or simply a nice poem for inspiration.  I ask that you criticize everything I do because I know I'm far from perfect and have plenty of room for improvement.  I'll try and post as much as I can on this blog, so let me know what you think!

Luck

People think that luck is just luck, that it is equal for everyone.  I find that off.  Have you ever noticed that some people are just naturally more lucky than others?  They get lucky in dodgeball when a ball just barely misses them frequently, or when your friend isn't paying attention while he's driving and just the instantbefore he crashes he slams on the breaks.  Could it perhaps actually be a guardian angel?

I'd feel safe with this guy by my side.

Maybe not a guardian angel or something supernatural, but maybe it could be a natural evolutionary mechanism?  I've always noticed that people are luckier than others, with significance.  I have my moments where I'm driving and I get so close to crashing but something happens to evade it.  I've thought that perhaps it could be to do with the idea that maybe we have more than five senses.

I-Doser

An I-Doser is a mp3 file you can download online that eventually takes you into a different state of mind when you use it.  When I first heard of it, I thought it was nonsense until I tried the "Gates of Hades" download.
Shit got weird.

I thought of this not really as the new online drug that everyone's going to be doing, but as a form of meditation.  Although the gates of hades may not fit the "tranquil" reputation meditation has, let me remind you that the definition of meditation is continued or extended thought; reflection; contemplation (dictionary.com).  That extended thought could be painful, but you do travel to a newer state, as the buddhist would put it the stage of "enlightenment".

I would only recommend I-Doser if you are truly interested in being in the "enlightened" stage.  Read up on it, let me know about your experiences.

Our Dreams

The concept and idea of "dreams" has been getting very popular nowadays with movies like Inception and psychological brain teasers like Requiem For A Dream.  Dreams have always interested me, and I pursued to broaden my knowledge on it by watching NOVA's "What Are Dreams?", by starting to read Freud's "The Interpretation of Dreams", and by contrasting other culture's ideas on dreams to what mine are.
Fascinating
In history, people who have created things like Henry Ford claim that the finalizations on their creations came to them in a dream.  Many other cultures claim that gods bring "visions" to them about something in the future and there are cases where people do dream things and they actually happen.  The idea of living in a false world, like in the Matrix, triggers many philosophical branches that always keep us wondering, what if?  Dreams have always captured our imagination and kept us questioning exactly what they are.  Why do we dream?  What are the benefits to it?

I'll keep everyone posted on what I learn as I progress, but for now let me hear what you guys think of dreams and why we have them.  I recommend keeping a dream journal, where you record what you remember in your dreams, as I have for the past three months.  It is truly astonishing as to what your mind is really trying to tell you.  Happy dreaming!

Minecraft

So, the new update of Minecraft 1.8 came out, and it's pretty amazing.  It's interesting to see new randomly generated villages and strongholds, as well as smoother lighting and a more beautiful sunset.  There are new mobs like "Endermen" which scare the shit out of me when I play the game.  I did notice on the list of updates that Notch mentioned he "removed Herobrine" which means that he actually existed..?
Now that he's gone, our gain in sleep will help us defeat Israphel

As I spent time playing this game with my friends I wondered, what makes this game so grasping?
Is it the fact that your creativity has no limits?
Holy shit.
Is it the feeling of solitude with the combination of soothing music and the instinct of survival?
Ssssssssst
Or is it the idea that one man known as Notch created it?  I think its fascinating how one man's passion could go so far!  Minecraft now has over 13 million people registered, and over 3 million have bought the game.  Those numbers show how interesting a game like this really is, how it started as nothing and became even a passion for some celebrities.

Yeah you, Joel.
Either way, this game is fantastic and the new update (with it's many perks) makes it even a greater pleasure to play.   If you love it or hate it, let me hear your opinion.  What resonates more from this game in you that makes you play it or what makes you stay away from it?
